Guilty pleasures: Chocolate fondant tart ($13.50) and blackberry parfait ($11.50)

The Cheesecake Cafe

Sweet nothings: One-off variations like lemon-lime or vanilla choc-chip are lined up with the original peach jelly cheesecake

When: Wed to Sun (4.30pm to midnight). Takeaway outlet opens from Mon to Fri (11am to 7pm)

Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie

Sweet nothings: A pastry boutique with pastries, cakes, chocolates, ice creams as well as all-day dining items like soups, sandwiches and pastas.

Guilty pleasures: Le Royala, a chocolate cake ($6.50), strawberry shortcake ($6), handmade pralines ($10.50 upwards for four pieces)

Paisley & Cream

Sweet nothings: A cosy boutique with an emphasis on cupcakes and a bread pudding that is a staple.

Where: The Central at Clarke Quay, 01-09/10, Tel: 6534-7962

When: 10am to 9pm (Mon to Thu), 10am to midnight (Fri), 11am to midnight (Sat), 11am to 9pm (Sun)

Guilty pleasures: Double chocolate cupcake, a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting ($3.50); Indian summer, a tandoori chicken wrap ($9.80)

Obolo

Sweet nothings: A 10-seater pastry boutique that specialises in cheesecakes and French-style mousse cakes. Have a verrine (cake in a glass) to go - you take home the glass as well.

When: 11.30am to 8.30pm (Tue to Fri), 11am to 9pm (Sat and Sun), closed on Mon and public holidays
