Xin Cuisine scores with its double yolk white lotus mooncake that has a firm paste texture. Not overly sweet. The mooncakes are handcrafted by Xin Cuisine Restaurant's team of Hong Kong chefs.

BIRD'S NEST WITH CUSTARD IN SNOW SKIN MOONCAKE
The bite-sized miniature mooncake, filled with bird's nest and silken custard, is wrapped in a delicate layer of vanilla-scented snow skin.

The bird's nest bits provide a distinctive taste of jelly that goes well with the vanilla snow skin. Eat it slowly as you would an aphrodisiac.

GINSENG WHITE LOTUS SEED PASTE SNOW SKIN MOONCAKE
This premium mooncake with ginseng and sprinkled with pine nuts is one of three new flavours from the hotel this year. The ginseng taste is strong but not overpowering and it goes nicely with the smooth snow skin.

The cakes are packed in an elongated box, unlike the traditional square.

GOLDEN MOONCAKE WITH DURIAN PASTE
The crispy golden skin and D24 durian paste are a winning combination, especially for die-hard durian lovers. The crust is like curry puff pastry. Freshly baked, it melts in the mouth with a heavenly taste.

The new gold-themed packaging is designed by award-winning Hong Kong-based agency Shya-la-la Production.

SINGLE YOLK PANDAN LOTUS WITH PISTACHIOS
Tung Lok's bean 'yolk' is its creative substitute for those who do not eat egg yolk. Made from beans, the 'yolk' can be found in the single yolk pandan lotus with pistachios that give it a nutty edge. The pandan flavour is fragrant and not too sweet.

The cakes come in a collector's tin box imprinted with the picture of a Chinese beauty to augment the retro touch.

Peach Blossoms at Marina Mandarin
MINI SNOW SKIN MOONCAKE WITH TOFFEE TRUFFLE
A melt-in-the-mouth experience with delectable snow skin and toffee truffle. The luscious white lotus paste and creamy toffee may be a tad modern, but it is a delightful blend of texture and pleasant flavours.

In keeping with the hotel's support for local and Asian arts, it has launched a limited edition mooncake box that marries culinary skills with visual art. It is called the Art series mooncake box, exclusively designed by local pop artist Justin Lee.

Swensen's
DISNEY CHOCOLATE-COATED ICE CREAM MOONCAKES
Great stuff for the kids with Swensen's Disneythemed ice cream mooncakes.Mickey (chocolate), Minnie (strawberry), and Winnie the Pooh (cookies and cream) are embossed on the cakes. The crust is made entirely of sweet brown chocolate. This is classic ice cream in the guise of a mooncake. Nice try.

Cherry Garden at The Oriental
TRADITIONAL SILVER LOTUS PASTE WITH MACADAMIA NUTS AND EGG YOLKS
By popular vote, this is one of the best traditional mooncakes in the taste session. The fresh macadamia nuts lend a crunchy bite to the lotus paste. Simply delicious.

Packed in a limited edition box that mimics a Korean chest with red and golden hues.

HIBISCUS AND MANDARIN ORANGE CHEESE SNOW SKIN MOONCAKE
Hilton's variety combines the richness of cheesecake infused with mandarin orange bits, and the stuffing is accentuated by the sweet florid notes of hibiscus. The taste is rich, exquisite and cheesy. It has a refreshing and tangy twist.

The cakes come in a half-moon box that opens up to a full moon to symbolise harmony and prosperity. The other half has two boxes of premium tea (Tie Guan Ying and Jasmine) and a personalised greeting card.

Meritus Mandarin
LIMITED EDITION CELESTIAL MOONCAKE
This is a Goliath of a mooncake weighing in at 600g. The fine white lotus paste with eight succulent egg yolks and sprinkled with gold flakes make it a large mouth-watering treat with the traditional mooncake taste.

For those who can't stomach enough of the egg yolks, each slice also comes wedged with a sliver of yolk. Packed in a stylish green round lacquer box to give it a touch of class.
