I hate to tell you this, but Christmas is coming.
Ignore it all you want but turkey time will be here really soon. How will you flavour it this year?
If you want to give the big bird an Australian touch, consider using Tony's Own Organic Lemon Myrtle Sprinkle and Rub ($8.50 for a 100g pack).
Rub this aromatic mixture of organic sea salt, organic lemon myrtle and black pepper into the cavity of the turkey. Mix some of it with softened butter and apply liberally all over the outside of the turkey and also in between the skin and flesh of the breast area, then roast.
The rub is good with roast chicken too, or sprinkled over pork chops just before grilling.
And to pep up the endless rounds of turkey sandwiches you'll be making with leftovers after Christmas, get some of this B3C Fiery Pumpkin and Chermoula Chutney ($12.90 for a 275g jar).
This punchy, cumin-scented chutney will give that turkey sandwich some character. It is a little tart, a little sweet and a little spicy.
