Blue chip investment

For something crunchy to go with your lunch sandwich, try these new Terra chips featuring candy-striped beetroot, sweet potatoes and blue potatoes.

This American brand of chips is well known for including exotic vegetables in the chip mix. They always taste good too, and this new version is no different.

Lightly fried in a fresh-tasting oil and dusted with sea salt, these chips make for relatively healthy eating. You don't feel greased out after a handful of them.

While they're best eaten as they are, I've been dipping them into ice-cream. It's a weird combination, I know, but the sweet-salty contrast is fantastic.

Terra's dark-red sweet potato chips are really good, being crisp and nutty. I also like the thin, candy-striped beet chips, which don't taste too starchy. Both are great with vanilla or coconut ice-cream.

Or for a change, sprinkle the pretty red and white beet chips over a salad for extra crunch.

Terra chips Stripes & Blues, $10.05 for a 184g pack, from major supermarkets.
