Lifestyle 100 Best Dishes, The Sunday Times
100 Favourite Dishes

THERE must be dishes you crave so much that you simply have to order them each time you visit a restaurant.

Well, we have - 100 of them in fact.

In this special edition of LifeStyle, my colleagues - Tan Hsueh Yun (THY), Thng Lay Teen (TLT) and Foong Woei Wan (FWW) - and I (WAY) present our list of 100 best dishes served in Singapore's restaurants.

They are listed in no particular order, but we have classified them under different cuisines for easy reference.

These items could be a little snack like the $1.80 durian puff from Goodwood Park Hotel or a gourmet delicacy like the $1,680 abalone from Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant in Allson Hotel. But they all share one important quality that makes them special. They are all so yummy we dream of the next time we can get to taste them again.

If you are an HSBC credit cardholder, there are some good deals inside this special issue for you.

Just a note: While this special edition is sponsored by HSBC, the bank adopted a strictly hands-off policy on how the 100 dishes were selected.

The dishes were chosen independently by the writers and we had only one criteria in mind - that the food is good. All the meals were paid for by Singapore Press Holdings.

Slightly over half of the eateries mentioned here are linked to the special offers that HSBC credit cardholders enjoy. In some cases, the restaurants featured already had an on-going deal with the bank; in others, the bank went in to garner a deal for its cardholders only after our choices were known.

So, indulge and enjoy. Let us know, too, what you think of our choices and what you would recommend. We'd love to hear your views.
