LOCAL veteran musician Robert Nalin Yakara, 46, has produced a DVD, Beat the Rhythm, featuring local and international percussionists. This is the first-ever percussion concert produced by a Singaporean percussionist/drummer.
The DVD contains all original drum pieces composed by Mr Nalin, who is also its producer. The percussionists include students of the Australian International School whom Mr Nalin is currently teaching. Instruments involved in the concert include, cymbals, base drums, snare drums (side drums) and floor toms.

He has, since 1998, been performing in CHIJMES during the International Latin and Jazz Festivals.
Recently, he played with Denis Follington, Marcus Dengate and Sebastian Ho in the musical, Two Gentlemen of Verona.
The DVD launch will be on Friday, Nov 24 at the Australian International School, 1, Lorong Chuan at 4.30 pm.
