Homegrown singer Kit Chan, actor Qi Yu Wu, composer Dick Lee and film-maker Tan Pin Pin are among the 19 new members appointed to the National Heritage Board (NHB)'s main and sub boards. Together, they will help the NHB plug into the creative industries, expand its outreach and engage new audiences.

Of the 19 new members, six were appointed to the main board, and 13 others to the four subsidiary boards which help oversee the Asian Civilisations Museum, National Museum of Singapore, Singapore Art Museum and National Archives of Singapore.

They bring with them considerable experience and influence from their varied backgrounds in academics, banking, philanthropy, law, media and retail.

Describing the new board members as "talented and accomplished individuals", NHB's chairman Professor Tommy Koh said: "Their reputations, expertise and networks will add strength and value to our boards."
