THERE will be opportunities abound for budding wine enthusiasts and wine connoisseurs to learn more about wine culture and get a taste of award winning wines from around the world, next month.
Over 500 international and local companies from over 30 countries will be gathering here to take part in the fifth annual comprehensive wine exhibition for Asia- Wine for Asia 2007 (WFA).
WFA is jointly organised by Singex Exhibitions and Wine Resources, and will be held at the Singapore Expo from October 25-27.
About 58,000 wine bottles are expected to be showcased at WFA, and visitors will also get a chance to taste winning wines from this year's Decanter World Wine Awards and WFA's own Wine Style Asia Awards.
The winning wines will be selected by 2 panel of judges, with the first round of judging held on Oct 16, and the final round on Oct 22.
A symposium on the Asian wine market, and a forum on 'capitalising on wine to increase the bottom line of traditional dining business' will also be held at the exhibition.
Organisers are expected around 4,000 trade visitors from 21 countries to attend the event.
These details were announced the WFA's annual Great Grape Stomp at Labrador park on Wednesday, as a curtain raiser for the wine exhibition.
Pre-registered trade visitors will be given free admission to the three-day event.
The price for walk-ins? A one-time fee of $25.
