MAKERS of the Australian yogurt brand Yoplait have announced an immediate voluntary recall of Yoplait yogurt products from two of its production lines.
The affected lines are Baby Yoplait and Yoplait Elivae. They are being recalled because of possible metal contamination.
National Foods Limited told Singapore's Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) that the recall is only a precautionary measure.
'There is no evidence at this stage that any product has been contaminated,' it said.
However, the AVA has advised importers and retailers here to recall immediately all the products which may have been affected.
In a press statement yesterday, the AVA also advised consumers who had bought the products to discard the items and not consume them.
National Foods has told Singapore's importer of the yogurt that only one of the affected products has been exported to Singapore. This is Baby Yoplait Vanilla & Banana pack of 4x100g, with a 'best before'' date of Nov 11 this year.
Consumers with any queries can call AVA's hotline on 1800-226 2250.
