More than 40 people who came down with food poisoning after eating salmonella-laced chocolate cakes from Prima Deli bakery chain on Wednesday called the hotline set up by the company to deal with their concerns.

The hotline - 62777171 - was set up by Prima Food Pte Ltd, which has 39 franchises selling its cakes and bread.

These outlets are closed for a week after 109 people suffered food poisoning from eating the contaminated chocolate cakes in the last two weeks.

Two of the bakery's workers have tested positive fo the salmonella strain that infected the customers.

Prima Food on Wednesday said only its bread, cakes and pastries have been affected.

Other products such as its frozen dough and Prima Taste pre-mixes are safe for consumers.
