This contest is organised by soshiok.com, SPH AsiaOne's new food & wine website, in association with Singapore Chefs Association and Shatec.

All information required such as personal particulars must be given in English. Recipes must be written in English too.
Shortlisted contestants (10 in each category) will cook at Shatec's kitchen on May 10, 9.30am for judges to assess their dishes.
The finalists' dishes will be displayed at Jurong Point for judging in the afternoon the same day. The results will also be announced at the event. The dishes should be displayed on the finalists' own crockery.
1) The dish must reflect Singapore's Asian flavours that are already popular. Also acceptable are flavours reflective of Singapore's cosmopolitan outlook or colonial past.
2) The dish must have a taste that has mass appeal, mainly to Singaporeans
3) The dish must be original and not based on a recipe culled from current menus at well-known restaurants.
4) The dish can serve as a substantial appetiser or as a main course.
5) The dish must not be a soup, dessert or a snack.
6) Local or imported Vegetables, Seafood, Meats, Poultry, Fruit, Rice, Noodles and their related products are acceptable as main ingredients.
Contestants must also fulfil and take note of the following:
1) Contestants picked from the shortlisting must cook on May 10, 9am at Shatec's kitchen and the judges will assess the dishes of the finalists at Jurong Point, located not far away.
2) Contestants must provide their own ingredients for cooking and pay for all their food ingredients except for those whose employers are willing to foot the charges on their behalf.
3) Shatec will provide cooking kitchen utensils for food preparation and cooking. However, contestants are advised to bring their own tools, like their own personal knife or a specialised tool, if they feel more comfortable using their own.
4) Contestants must cook again, enough to allow five persons to sample their dish, at another event at a public venue where the prize presentation will also be held. They must foot their own bill for the cooking ingredients and transportation and provide their own crockery for displaying their dishes.
5) SPH reserves the rights to use finalists' recipes for publicity purposes and publication.
6) Contestants, especially finalists and winners, must be willing to take part in any subsequent events organised by SPH such as cooking demonstrations, talks and public tasting which involve their dishes.
7) Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
8) Prizes will be forfeited if not collected by June 30, 2008.
9) The judges' decision on all matters relating to this contest will be final and binding on all persons participating in this Contest, and no correspondence will be entertained.
10) SPH reserves the right to publish or display the name, picture, identification card number and city of residence of the winner of this contest for advertising and publicity purposes.
11) By entering into this Contest, participants agree that SPH, their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotions agencies, and their respective officers, directors, and employees shall not be liable for injury, loss, or damage of any kind resulting from participating in this contest or from the acceptance or use/misuse of the prize awarded. This includes, without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
12) SPH, in their sole discretion, reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions, make prize substitutions or cancel this Contest without prior notice.
13) SPH is not responsible for lost or misdirected entries, caused by telephone lines or systems or internet service providers, for entry responses received after the deadline as a consequence of telephone or internet service delays, interruptions, failures or overloads, or for any stolen, misplaced, or incomplete responses.
14) SPH reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the registration process or the operation of the contest or the website, to be in violation of the Conditions of Access of the Web site, or to be acting in violation of the Computer Misuse Act or any other law or regulation.
15) SPH reserves the right to pursue legal action against any individual believed to have undertaken fraudulent activities or other activities harmful to this contest, the entry submission process or the relevant web site.
16) Participants also agree that SPH is not responsible or liable for any injury or damage to a participant or third party's computer relating to or resulting from this Contest and/or its prizes.
17) SPH is not liable for damage to a user's computer system in any way due to a user's participation in the online Contest or downloading of any information in connection with the registration, including without limitation any server failure; lost, delayed or corrupted data or other malfunction.
18) SPH reserves the right to modify or cancel this online Contest in the event that the platform becomes technically corrupted or unsuitable for use.
