What to expect: A cosy, unpretentious place where you can take your children and dog. There's a wide open space for the kids to run around in. And for the romantics, the waterfront setting is perfect for whispering sweet-nothings.
Denise The Wine Shop

Opening hours: 11am to midnight daily
What to expect: Barely a year old, this wine speciality chain already has 14 outlets, with one more to come later this month. Its latest outlet offers sit-in consumption whereas some others are purely retail centres. You can buy some hard-to-find wines for $20 to $6,000 a bottle.

What to expect: Almost everything in this friendly bar is Irish, from the bar to the flooring and furniture. And where the Irish are, there's always great stew, good music and lots of Guinness Stout.
